Sustainable events are starting to roll out

11 June 2020

We heard some incredible ideas during our community engagement in late 2019 and early 2020.

We’ve started developing a program of events that incorporate those themes and topics that were important to you. This included “being mindful of future generations” and “backyard composting and worm farming”.

Of course, COVID-19 restrictions mean that we are developing the program for digital channels. There is a lot coming that we are excited about, starting with:

BLUE film documentary screening
3 pm Sunday 14 June
Blue is a feature documentary film charting the decline in the health of our oceans. With more than half of all marine life lost in the last 40 years and the expansion of the industrialization of the seas, the film sets out the challenges we are facing and the opportunities for positive change.
Register for online access to the film screening.

Ipswich Libraries presents Learn for Life Online - Sustainable Living with Spurtopia
9.30am Saturday 20 June
Sustainable design engineer Roman Spur, from Spurtopia, will share his tips and tricks for living a sustainable life. From organic gardening to urban animals, Roman will share his ideas, inventions and knowledge about sustainable living.

Help shape our program of events
We have also reopened the community engagement on Shape Your Ipswich.
