Nature-Based Solutions for Flood Resilience Workshop

This workshop is a partnership with Australian National University (ANU) to develop the first ever Australian guidelines on nature-based solutions for flood mitigation and resilience.

Under the project, an inter-disciplinary team of researchers will partner with communities to develop the first ever Australian guidelines on nature-based solutions for flood mitigation and resilience. Key locations in Australia have been selected for the project, with the Bremer Catchment being one study location.

ANU will facilitate this workshop with the assistance of Council.

The workshop will cover:

  • Types of nature-based solutions to flooding and understanding what they are
  • Alignment with recent Council and State Government community engagement on flooding
  • Discussion about design strategies that address communities' priorities
  • Interest in ongoing involvement in the project to ensure the Ipswich community is involved in the research and Australian guidelines on Nature-based Solutions for flood mitigation and resilience
