About the pool
Council is responsible for heating the 25m outdoor pool at the Georgie Conway Leichhardt Community Swim Centre.
The pool is currently heated using two new gas heaters that operate 24/7.
The 25m outdoor pool temperature is maintained at approximately 29 degrees Celsius, however, the actual daily water temperature is also affected by the ambient (outside) temperature during summer and winter.

I went to do laps at this pool and to be honest I didn’t return because it was too warm. I felt like I was overheating.

When we go to the pool on a weekly basis for exercise and rehab we are finding the water to be far too cold. Will not continue if not improv

We do aqua and zumba there , It actually doesn’t feel that warm in the pool , i would like to to feel like a bath to help do my exercise

when hotter was much better and had more people. I am a very large person and by it being a warmer it allows me to swim all year round

If the pool stays at a temperature lower than 32 degrees I will not be able to swim and improve my muscle tone and fitness after cancer.

The bane of my swimming life. I wanted to swim last winter and temperature was too cold. Needed to be closer to 32 but was less than 29.

I always found winter swimming to be an absolute pleasure but last year it was too cold and there were days when I didn't enjoy it.

Before December 2020 the winter target temperature was 32 degrees . This was comfortable . This target temperature was lowered to 29 degrees
