2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games - creative opportunities

Summit attendees were asked to share their ideas for Ipswich in preparation for the 2032 Games and the 2028 - 2032 Cultural Olympiad. Please see ideas below
  • Arts and Culture Precinct

A place for artists, singers, musicians, performers, sculptors etc to collectively work and create. A place that can allow for performance, markets and ways to exhibit locally created work.
  • Community, Communication and Connection

An organisation to take the lead on providing a place to network, engage and be made aware of opportunities. An online location to find support, meet other creatives and showcase achievements. In person meet ups to be schedule for people to gather and share their ideas.
  • Artisan experience trail

Establish an artisan trail for people to visit. Arts organisations re-purpose vacant buildings and add to the trail. Inclusions on the trail are artisanal trades, first nations showcases, tourism locations like street art trail and heritage spotlight.
  • Being a place for building, making and producing art

Establish Ipswich as the maker place for the Olympics. Gifts, souvenirs, public art sculptures and unique pieces. Unite the city's trade skills and creative aspiration to become globally known as the place for producing art.
  • A city that welcomes rehearsals

In the lead up to the 2032 Games and Cultural Olympiad Ipswich encourages dance, performances and music to younger people. Leveraging dance eisteddfods and local dance schools, Ipswich could be the place for performers to develop their routines and halls filled with rehearsals.
