Through a survey on Shape Your Ipswich, we asked the community:

• How have you used Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve in the past? Who do you visit the reserve with and how often?
• Do you support the proposed concept design? If no, which additional option would you like to see?
• Do you have any other feedback on the proposed design?

The survey was open between 22 March and 21 April 2023.

6 community pop-ups were held at various locations and the consultation was also widely promoted through media articles and social media.

The concept design for the reconstruction of flood-damaged Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve in Chuwar has been met with strong community support and will now progress to final design.

Following strong community support, the concept design will now progress to final design.

The more sustainable, flood-friendly 'back-to-basics' design suggests food trucks instead of a permanent café, more open grassy spaces for recreation and picnicking with family and friends, and fewer permanent structures.

Once complete, the final design for the new-look Colleges Crossing will be released to the public ahead of construction.
